Privacy Policy

The short version
SayWhenn asks you a few questions and writes you a night out. To do that we collect what you type, your email address, and some technical detail about the request. We do not sell it. Below is exactly what we hold, why, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
When you build a night:
Your answers: the area, the day, the budget, the mood, and anything you write in the longer flow.
Your first name and email address, from the last step.
Your IP address, used to rate-limit the service so that one person cannot use up the whole day.
The plan itself, stored so that your share link keeps working.
As you use the plan:
Which links you tap (Maps, Uber, reserve) and any stop you swap out, recorded against the plan rather than against your name.
A one-way hash of your email address, never the address itself, so that if you come back we do not hand you the same bars twice.
If you sign in with Google:
Your email address and a Google account id. We never see your Google password, and we ask Google for nothing beyond your email address and basic profile.
Your saved nights and starred venues, so that they follow you to another device.
If you ask about a Big Night:
Your name, email and phone number, plus the occasion, date, headcount, budget and anything you tell us about the event.
In your browser only:
If you never sign in, your saved nights and favourite spots stay in your browser and never reach us. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
AI usage
Your answers are sent to Anthropic’s Claude models, which write the itinerary. We do not use your answers to train any AI model, and under their business terms Anthropic may not use them for training either.
Who else sees your data
Supabase: everything we store, plus the function that builds the plan. It is our database and our backend.
Anthropic: your answers, in order to write the plan.
Google: your email address if you choose to sign in; venue names and addresses through Places; your IP address if you tap through to Maps.
Framer: standard web traffic such as your IP address and browser. Framer hosts this site.
Vercel: standard web traffic, for the video and images this site loads.
OpenStreetMap and CARTO: your IP address and the map area shown on your results page.
Open-Meteo: your IP address, and a fixed Los Angeles coordinate. Never your own location.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, which under the CCPA means there is nothing for you to opt out of on that front.
How long we keep it
Rate-limit records, which hold your IP address: deleted automatically within 24 hours.
The record of which venues you have already been served: 90 days, deleted automatically.
The repeat-visitor record, which is a one-way hash of your email address and the date you last visited: 12 months from that visit.
Saved plans, which is what a share link resolves to: 24 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
Big Night enquiries: kept while we arrange your event, and afterwards for our tax records.
Anything in your account: until you delete it, or until you ask us to.
Your rights
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. We cannot treat you worse for asking. Everyone gets the same from us wherever they live.
Use the contact page and tell us what you want. We reply within 30 days. To delete everything, send that request plus the words delete my data: we match on your email and remove your saved nights, your history and your enquiries.
Children
SayWhenn plans nights out that often involve bars. It is not intended for anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect anything from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will say so on the site.
